PSC deploys eight CPs, appoints AIG as police academy commandant

The Police Service Commission has approved the deployment of eight Commissioners of Police to various state commands and appointed Assistant Inspector-General of Police Auwal Mohammed as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano.

The commission said the postings, approved at its meeting on Wednesday, followed the promotion of former commissioners and were intended to address operational needs across the affected commands.

According to a statement by the commission’s spokesman, Torty Kalu, under the new postings, CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo was deployed to Abia State, CP Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau, CP Saka Ajao to Bayelsa, CP Ajo Ordue to Cross River, CP Nnanna Ama to Anambra, CP Patrick Daaor to Edo, CP Tijani Murtala to Jigawa, and CP Samuel  Etaifo to Delta State.

“The postings follow promotions of former CPs and are aimed at sustaining operational exigencies, ” the statement partly read.

Before their new assignments, Olutokunbo served as Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Training and Development; Faniyan headed Administration at the Police Cooperative in Lagos; Ajao was CP Administration at the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Gombe; Ordue served as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL, Abuja; Ama was CP Intelligence, while Daaor was CP Administration at the Force Intelligence Department, Abuja.
